At LMS we want to accomplish full body wellness for you. We offer many different treatments and are always expanding and striving for more ways to help you. At LMS, before each session we will discuss what your visit pertains to and then explain what the plan for your massage is. We customize each therapy session combining the following types of massages to meet the individual needs.
Neuromuscular Massage Therapy:
Neuromuscular Therapy is a specialized form of deep tissue massage in which digital pressure and friction are used to release areas of strain into the muscle. The areas of strain can be called trigger points and myofascial points. Myofascial points are tender areas within the fascia.
Trigger Point Massage Therapy:
A trigger point is a tight area within the muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. For example an active trigger point on the back may produce referred pain into the neck. The therapists will asses your body and all the trigger points. If they find an active one they will hold it until it releases and move to the next.
Sports Massage Therapy:
A Sports massage is ideal to treat injuries and as well as a preventative treatment dealing with the health of muscle and connective tissue, range of movement, tone, symmetry, balance of muscle and quality of posture.
Deep Tissue Massage Therapy:
Deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish/relaxation massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue tendons and fascia. Fascia the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints.
During your prenatal massage you will be lying on your side with multiple supportive pillows. We work on areas such as your hips to help them open up and prepare for labor and avoid areas like the inside of your ankle that can cause premature labor. Prenatal massage can also increase your circulation and relive the overall aches and pains that baby has been putting on your body. Remember the less stressed you are the less stress on baby.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage:
This massage is manual Lymph Drainage. It is a technique developed to treat fluid build up. For example after surgery, chest congestion, sinus congestion and too many toxins within the body.
A relaxation massage is Long smooth gliding strokes that are rhythmic and flowing. Pressure that is deeply relaxing, but not painful. A treatment that is designed to soothe and relax you, not to relieve chronic pain or other underlying ailments
